HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A popular Korean BBQ spot in Huntsville is raising serious health concerns after receiving a failing inspection score—reminding residents to pay close attention to where they dine.
Q’s Korean BBQ & Revolving Sushi on University Drive scored a 77 during a recent health inspection, well below the Alabama Department of Public Health’s passing mark of 85.
Inspectors cited multiple violations, including dirty ice machines and tea nozzles, broken kitchen equipment, and a lack of proper sanitizer in the dishwasher. Even more concerning, several sinks failed to reach the required hot water temperature—an essential standard for preventing the spread of bacteria.
The issue with hot water is especially alarming in a restaurant setting, where proper sanitation is critical to protecting public health.
But this isn’t an isolated case.
Across the Tennessee Valley, several other establishments also fell short. A Harvest-based food truck received a similar failing score due to blocked sinks, damaged utensils, and improper chemical labeling. Meanwhile, a DeKalb County restaurant scored an 81 after a sewage spill was discovered outside the building.
Health officials stress that these inspections are not meant to punish businesses—but to protect the public.
For Huntsville residents, the message is clear: stay informed, check inspection scores, and don’t ignore warning signs.
Because when it comes to your health, what you don’t see in the kitchen can matter the most.
