North Alabama drug agents seized more than 15 pounds of cocaine during a multi-state trafficking investigation. In another separate case, investigators say one kilogram of fentanyl confiscated in Huntsville represented hundreds of thousands of potentially deadly doses.

A major multi-state drug trafficking operation tied to Texas, Georgia, and Alabama has been dismantled after authorities seized more than 15 pounds of cocaine and over one kilogram of fentanyl destined for North Alabama communities.

According to the North Alabama Drug Task Force, agents arrested multiple suspects during separate investigations targeting large-scale narcotics distribution networks operating throughout the region.

On May 11, investigators executed a search warrant at a Huntsville-area residence following a years-long investigation into cocaine trafficking. Authorities arrested Jesse Williams, Peggy Laverne Jones, and Robert Isiah Jacquez. Agents seized approximately 15.1 pounds of cocaine and nearly $39,000 in cash during the operation.

Officials believe the cocaine was intended for distribution across several Alabama counties.

In a separate case, investigators arrested Michael Fitts after stopping him while allegedly transporting more than one kilogram of fentanyl into Huntsville. Authorities estimate the seizure carried a street value of more than $207,000 and represented nearly 500,000 potentially lethal doses.

NADTF Commander Lt. Joseph Kennington said the investigations highlight the ongoing dangers posed by narcotics traffickers targeting Alabama communities.

Authorities say the investigations involved extensive coordination between local, state, and regional drug enforcement agencies working to disrupt trafficking routes bringing dangerous narcotics into North Alabama.
