On a warm Saturday afternoon in one of Huntsville’s most storied neighborhoods, the front porches of Five Points became stages — and the streets became a festival.

PorchFest returned to the Five Points area of Huntsville on Saturday, May 2 — a free, community-centered music festival where local performers set up on homeowners’ porches along Pratt Avenue, filling the neighborhood with live music, food trucks, and good energy from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The event is rooted in community spirit — celebrating connection through music in Huntsville’s notably artist-friendly Five Points neighborhood, with proceeds benefitting local creative projects through Huntsville Music Scene. Attendees are encouraged to tip local bands, support musicians directly, and patronize Five Points businesses throughout the day.

PorchFest has grown into one of Huntsville’s most anticipated annual cultural gatherings, drawing residents from across the city to walk the streets, discover new local artists, and reconnect with neighbors in an era when authentic community spaces can be hard to find. For the Five Points Historic District — a neighborhood that blends working-class roots, artistic energy, and architectural history — PorchFest is more than a music event. It is an        annual declaration that culture belongs to the people who live it.

PorchFest is described by the Huntsville Convention and Visitors Bureau as one of the city’s premier music events — with live music on the front porches of homes up and down Pratt Avenue, all ages welcome, and no ticket price required.

For Black artists, independent musicians, and community creatives in Huntsville, PorchFest represents one of the most accessible platforms in the city — no gatekeepers, no corporate sponsorships required to perform. Just porches, neighbors, and music.
