AAMU PRESIDENT FEATURED IN HBCU DIGEST

In an article heralding those black colleges and universities that have achieved growth despite the constant hassles of their state’s politics, (RIGHT) Alabama A&M University President Andrew Hugine, Jr., has been praised for helping AAMU “negotiate the political maze” to bring on growth in enrollment, completion of a capital campaign, and for boosting its endowment to nearly $50 million.

In his piece released August 31, 2018, long-time black college advocate and HBCU Digest editor J. L. Carter wrote: “… AAMU, and other HBCU boards and presidents deserve credit for putting institutional growth over personal gain, all while setting new standards for how HBCUs can thrive in the 21st century.”
