There is an intriguing Word in Psalm 118:13b which says “…but the Lord helped me.”
The 118th number of Psalms is the last of a collection of Psalms known as the Hallel Psalms; these Psalms were sung during various festivals observed by the Israelites.
Psalm 118 expresses gratitude to God for His deliverance and faithfulness; whereby saints are encouraged to rejoice in the Lord and trust Him even during difficult times.
Listen, life will never take us where the God can’t keep us — whatever your situation, the Lord will help you.
Whether you’ve been walking with God a while, new to the journey, or still on the outside looking in — this might bless you.
One Sunday in Church at Douglas Tabernacle, one of the sisters in our Church got to shouting — “nobody but you Lord”.
One of the youth ask me, after service, Pastor, why did that lady keep hollering “nobody but you Lord”.
I told him ‘she was hollering because she knows what the Lord has done for her.’
Perhaps you or somebody you know, like our sister, can testify “nobody but you Lord.”
You were sick and God healed you, in trouble and He came to see about you, down He lifted you, out and He brought you in, couldn’t see your way and the Lord made away — you can attest to the fact it was nobody but you Lord.
Listen, if you can’t testify, I know for myself; it was nobody but the Lord!
Over the course my life I’ve gone places I shouldn’t have gone, done things I wouldn’t want you to know about, said things I wish I could take back, made mistakes I can’t undo, and lost what can’t be recovered — but the Lord helped me.
He’ll help you too, regardless of what you are going through.
