Omega Psi Phi, Incorporated is one of the nine historically Black fraternities and sororities that works to empower and develop young Black leaders of tomorrow. On the organization’s official website, Omega Psi Phi, Inc. writes that its four cardinal principles are man- hood, scholarship, perseverance and uplift. Over the past week, brothers of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Xi Omicron Chapter embodied the fourth principle to the fullest extent during its Achievement Week activities.
On November 18 th the Xi Omicron Chapter partnered with the Downtown Rescue Mission to donate turkeys to residents of the Huntsville/ Madison County area.
“We hope that it tries to address some of the food insecurities we know exist in the Huntsville community,” Timothy Griffin of Omega Psi Phi stated.
“I hope that they recognize that Xi Omicron is here. We’re here to do whatever we can to provide service to the community,” added Griffin. Griffin is the current President of the Xi Omicron Chapter which was founded in Normal , AL in 1948.

The work of the Downtown Rescue Mission and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. will go a long way in the community that needs assistance. The residents that suffer from food insecurity is alarming. We all must continue to do our part in service to the community.
