A Delaware judge has ruled that Voletta Wallace’s trust is entitled to more than $12.5 million in distributions from Notorious B.I.G., LLC, rejecting efforts by singer Faith Evans and the company to withhold most of the money during a separate family dispute.
The October 27 decision by Chancellor Kathaleen St. J. McCormick established the trust’s entitlement to $12,518,336, plus interest. Evans manages the company overseeing the late rapper’s intellectual property. The ruling concerns company distributions owed to the trust, rather than a personal fine against Evans.
Evans, the rapper’s widow, and Wallace, his mother, formed the company in 2007. A later arrangement divided distribution rights equally among the two women and Biggie’s children, T’yanna Wallace and Christopher Jordan “CJ” Wallace.
After Wallace died February 21, 2025, a disagreement developed over the trust’s rights. Trustee Wayne Barrow pursued legal action after Evans disputed its membership in the company.
Although the trust formally became a company member December 12, 2025, McCormick determined that its financial rights extended back to Wallace’s death.
Evans and the company argued that only $48,612 should be paid while CJ challenged Barrow’s appointment as executor and trustee in Pennsylvania. They proposed depositing the disputed balance with the Delaware court.
McCormick rejected that request, writing, “They are due to the Trust.” She found that the Pennsylvania challenge did not justify withholding the distributions.
The trust will also receive prejudgment interest at the statutory rate, compounded quarterly, calculated from the dates the distributions were made. McCormick directed Barrow to submit a proposed final order within 20 days reflecting this decision and earlier rulings.
