Keo Nottage is accused of stabbing his grandmother during a Mother’s Day dinner dispute in West Palm Beach.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A Florida man is facing attempted first-degree murder charges after police say he stabbed his grandmother during a Mother’s Day dinner dispute, leaving her in critical condition.

Keo Nottage, of West Palm Beach, was arrested after the alleged attack at a family home. According to reporting attributed to WLBT, police said the incident began as relatives were preparing a Mother’s Day meal. Court records said the grandmother and another family member went out to buy groceries, then returned and asked Nottage to help cook.

Police said Nottage became angry and allegedly warned, “Someone is going to die today.” Moments later, investigators say he attacked his grandmother inside the home and stabbed her 11 times.

Emergency responders took the woman to a hospital, where she was admitted to the intensive care unit with life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not publicly confirmed her chances of survival.

A cousin later told investigators that Nottage chased him with a knife after the stabbing. The cousin ran outside and called for help.

Nottage was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and appeared in court the next day. Deputies removed him from the courtroom after repeated interruptions, according to reports. He is being held without bond pending another hearing.

The case is a painful reminder of how quickly family disputes can turn violent, especially when anger, threats, and weapons are involved.
