HUNTSVILLE, AL- Joni Green partners with Drake State to fund a scholarship for students. This scholar-ship is so unique because it will allow students to gain an industry standard certification, the CompTIA Certification. CompTIA, is the world’s leading tech association. CompTIA’s unparalleled programs set industry standards, foster skills development and generate knowledge and in-sight every day. This certification may be an industry standard, however it is not covered by student loans and financial aid. There are many barriers that exist for students who strive to obtain this certification.

There are many studies that have revealed the longer a student waits to take the certification test after they complete the study the less likely they are to successfully pass the test. Joni Green will also provide interviews for the students to ensure they are fully pre-pared and equipped to enter the workforce and be successful.

“Partnerships like this truly speed up the process for our students to complete their education, gain the necessary certifications and enter the workforce, right here in North Alabama,” said Patricia Sims, President of J. F. Drake State. Joni and Dr. Sims are true visionaries. They are consistently working to address the workforce shortages and ensure the STEM workforce is truly as diverse as the world we live in. This diversity includes women and people of color.
