HUNTSVILLE, Ala.—Bulldog pride filled the halls of MLK Elementary School on Friday, September 4, as students participated in the Bulldog Pregame Rush, a school-spirit event organized through the Bulldogs Dreamers Initiative.
Ahead of Labor Day weekend, Alabama A&M University volunteers greeted students leaving their classrooms and added Bulldog flair through face painting. Children across grade levels displayed school colors, wore AAMU shirts, and celebrated with smiles throughout the building.
The outreach gave students a break from their routine while strengthening connections between the elementary school and university volunteers.
“I did this last year, and it’s a great way to give back to the kids and their high, innocent spirit,” said Karley Brazil, representing Collegiate 100. “Seeing how excited they get makes it all worth it.”
The Bulldogs Dreamers Initiative, Collegiate 100 and Phi Beta Lambda collaborated to create the event, combining community service with school spirit.
Although the Pregame Rush lasted only a short time, students entered the holiday weekend with painted faces, happy memories, and an even stronger connection to Alabama A&M’s Bulldog tradition.
