A growing number of singles are skipping traditional dating apps and turning to LinkedIn in search of romance, with many saying the professional networking platform offers a more authentic way to meet potential partners.
According to a recent survey by resume-building website Zety, one in eight respondents said they have entered a romantic relationship that began on LinkedIn. Nearly half of those surveyed said they viewed information on LinkedIn profiles as more trustworthy than what people typically share on dating apps.
Career experts say users often evaluate a person’s career path, education, professional achievements, profile photo, and mutual connections before deciding whether to reach out. Millennials and Generation Z make up the majority of those open to finding relationships through the platform.
The trend has gained momentum on TikTok, where several users have shared success stories about meeting employed, career-focused partners through LinkedIn. Some even joked that the platform offers the chance to land a job, expand a professional network, and possibly find a spouse—all in one place.
Not everyone is convinced, however. Critics argue LinkedIn should remain a professional space, with some expressing concerns about unwanted romantic messages interfering with networking and job searches. Others pointed out that many users are already married or simply want to connect with recruiters, not potential dates.
Whether it becomes the next dating destination or remains strictly for careers, LinkedIn is fueling a new conversation about where modern relationships begin.
