The U.S. Army Garrison at Redstone Arsenal is proposing to implement corrective measures at RSA-291, Underground Storage Tank at Former Building T-3162 (Steam Plant), located in an outlying parcel just north of Marvin Shields Road and west of Patton Road on Redstone Arsenal. The site boundary covers 0.24 acres. The former steam plant building (T-3162) was one of several buildings located in the Temporary Administrative Area that was initially established in 1942 to provide administrative support to chemical munitions manufacturing at Huntsville Arsenal during World War II. This location operated solely as a coal-fired boiler house for its operating life from 1943 to 1976.
