A second suspect has been charged in the double homicide of a man and woman killed in a hail of gunfire at a southwest Birmingham home last year.

LaDre Demond Todd-Green, 23, is charged with capital murder in the slayings of Kayla Warren, 28, and Na’ Bryan Adams, 20.

The police department’s Crime Reduction Team took Green into custody Monday in the 1600 block of Tuscaloosa Avenue. He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail just after 4 p.m. and is held without bond.

Police on Sunday announced the arrest of 23-year-old Jamil Carillo-Jemison was booked into the Jefferson County Jail Saturday. He remains held without bond as well.

Multiple shots rang out just after 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, at a house in the 700 block of 30th Street S.W.

When West Precinct officers arrived at the home, they found Warren, a rapper that went by the professional name 205KayWay, shot on the front porch of a friend’s home.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service rushed her to UAB Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 10:54 p.m.

Police learned Adams had been driven by private vehicle to Princeton Baptist Medical Center. He was then transferred to UAB because of the severity of injuries.

He died the following day.

A group of people were gathered at the home when the suspect opened fire.

The gunfire also damaged the house next door where a 66-year-old narrowly escaped being shot.

Birmingham’s Crime Reduction Team took Carillo-Jemison into custody Thursday, April 10, in the 1900 block of Princeton Court. He was held in the Birmingham City Jail until Saturday, when the capital murder was issued.

The suspect was booked into the county jail just before 3 p.m. Saturday.

A motive has not been disclosed.

The Birmingham Police Department this year has solved 13 previously unsolved 2024 homicide cases and one unsolved homicide case from 2023.
