Green onions have been recalled in 11 states, including Alabama

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers to throw away green onions from Church Brothers that were also sold at Trader Joe’s due to the presence of Salmonella.Canva

California- based Church Brothers Farms has issued a voluntary recall for green onions sold to retailers in the U.S. and Canada due to the produce being linked to a potential salmonella contamination.

According to an announcement posted on the FDA website, Church Brothers has voluntarily recalled 1,271 cases of green onions. According to the announcement, the green onions were distributed to a small number of retail and food service customers in Canada and the U.S., including Alabama, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia.
