Speakin’ Out News

The 17-year-old, Eboni McCarty from Madison, swam her 50 free-style, in 25.96 seconds, fast enough at the Toyota US Open, earning a spot in the U.S.A. Swimming Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska next June. Also, McCarty signed a letter of intent to the University of Georgia in the Fall of 2021.

Eboni McCarty is a 17-year-old native of Madison, AL. She is a member of the Westminster Christian Academy swim team and Madison Swim Association year-round team.

McCarty was introduced to the pool at six months old, and she has been swimming ever since.

McCarty is the holder of 12 state titles. She holds the state records in the 50 freestyle. Eboni is a four-time WCA MVP, a four-time Alabama All-American, and a two-time United States All-American. She has broken school records 37 times. Also, Eboni has won 4 championships with her school swim team and seeks her fifth championship title on December 4, 2020.

Eboni McCarty is excited to announce the signing of her National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Georgia in the Fall of 2021.

Her path to the Olympics began when she achieved her Olympic Time Trial in the 50-meter freestyle at the 2020 Toyota US Open this past weekend, November 12-14th at the Huntsville Aquatics Center.

While she is excited, her work is not done.

Eboni is looking to achieve qualifying times in the 100-meter freestyle and 100-meter backstroke before the 2021 Olympics.

Eboni is grateful to God for her gifts and talents. She hopes to be an inspiration and example to others that hard work and faith in God are essential keys to success. While Eboni understands that she can do all things through Christ, who is her strength, she also understands that the company she keeps is essential in staying focused on her goals.
