Huntsville, AL – A long tradition for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is to wear the color pink, but in February members of Epsilon Gamma Omega, joined millions of Americans in the fight against heart disease in women by wearing RED! Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, is proud to join the American Heart Association in the fight against heart disease in order to improve the health of all women. On this special day, Alpha Kappa Alpha women will take off our pink and wear red for the day to raise awareness of this deadly disease and promote life changes that will increase the longevity and quality of the lives of women around the globe. The committee provided donations of various healthy snacks, juice, and water to the Huntsville Hospital/Heart Institute and The Huntsville Hospital Foundation for family members of patients. Both organizations were presented the various snacks, juice, and water at Huntsville Hospital (Main) and the Heart Institute (3rd Floor). There were representatives from both agencies present as Dr. Cheryl R. Davis, President, presented the item donation forms with over $600 in food contributions.
