Andrew Wyatt, the spokesperson for disgraced comedian Bill Cosby, said today’s sentencing of the 81-year-old comes at the end of the “most racist and sexist trial in the history of the United States.”
Cosby was sentenced Tuesday to three to 10 years in state prison by Pennsylvania Judge Steven O’Neill after being found guilty in April of the 2004 sexual assault of Andrea Constand. Constand is one of more than a dozen women who claims they were assaulted by the iconic star best known for his family image and long-running television classic “The Cosby Show.”
O’Neill ordered that Cosby be designated as a “sexually violent predator” and be held without bail during pending appeals.
Wyatt said his client is “doing great” and “knows that God is watching over him.”
“They persecuted Jesus and look what happened,” Wyatt said. “I’m not saying Mr. Cosby is Jesus, but we know what this country has done to black men for centuries.”
Who is Andrew Wyatt?
Wyatt is the founder of Purpose PR, a Birmingham-based company. He’s a native of Bessemer and attended Miles College before working in local television markets.
In 2016, Wyatt told PRWeek he was having to use “unorthodox” ways to get Cosby’s story to the public.
