Artists display handmade crafts and artwork during the annual Art on the Lake festival in Guntersville. Families gather along Lake Guntersville to enjoy art, food, and activities at one of North Alabama’s longest-running festivals.

GUNTERSVILLE — One of North Alabama’s longest-running spring traditions is set to return as the 65th annual Art on the Lake festival takes place April 18-19 along the scenic shores of Lake Guntersville.

Hosted at the Guntersville Recreational Center, the two-day event will feature nearly 100 artists and craftsmen from across the Southeast, showcasing a wide range of handmade works, including paintings, photography, pottery, wood crafts, fiber art, and sculpture.

Organizers say the festival has remained a staple in the community for more than six decades, drawing both artists and visitors to the area each year.

In addition to visual art, attendees can enjoy a variety of food vendors, a popular bake shop, and family-friendly activities, including inflatables and carnival-style games for children.

Members of the Twenty-First Century Club of Guntersville, which sponsors the event, will offer homemade baked goods, including cakes, cookies, and pies—adding a local flavor to the festival experience.

Art on the Lake will be held at 1500 Sunset Drive, with hours set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $3 for ages 13 and older, and the event will take place rain or shine. Organizers note that smoking and animals are not permitted.

Proceeds from the festival support the club’s scholarship program for local high school graduates and other youth-focused initiatives.

With art, food, and community spirit on full display, Art on the Lake continues to celebrate creativity while giving back to the next generation.
