The 15th Annual Rosetta James Foundation “Honoring Our Elders” Celebration was held at the Jackson Center on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at noon. This year, the event spotlighted the remarkable contributions of six esteemed elders, all aged 70 and above, who have left indelible marks through their work careers and continued service in retirement within the Huntsville/Madison County area.

Among the honorees were Mrs. Brenda Beale and Mr. Rufus Gilmore, both distinguished educators; Mr. Gregory Miley, an accomplished engineer; Ms. Linda Spalla, a corporate communication leader; Mrs. Mary Strong, religious and higher education administration and Rev. Dr. Mitchell Walker, church Pastor. Scholarships were presented to approximately 40 students during the celebration. These scholarships were awarded based on the students involvement in volunteer projects in their communities. Dr. Dorothy Huston is the President of the Rosetta James Foundation.
