March is “Women’s History Month” a time when we place special significance on the many contribution of women to advancing society. In recognition of women’s history month, on March 28, 2019, AAMU celebrated the women on the campus by hosting its inaugural “A Tea on the Hill.” Administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni and community supporters welcomed Kandi Burress-Tucker from the Real Housewives of Atlanta as the Guest Speaker.
Kandi Burress-Tucker is an American singer, songwriter, television personality, actress and business woman. She is well known for being a member of the group Xscape.
The event was very empowering for women of all age groups. Kandi Burress-Tucker shared the importance of balancing one’s personal life and professional career. She also shared pointers on how to become a successful entrepreneur. Kandi informed those present at the event to 1) protect your idea, 2) be confident in your product, and 3) invest in yourself.
