Rev. Ricky Sykes delivering Rev. Battle’s eulogy
On a beautiful fall Sunday afternoon, Rev. Larry Battle was laid to rest at Valhalla Memory Gardens, he was 60 years old. The graveside service was held on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Ricky Sykes, Pastor of the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, where Rev. Battle was a member, officiated and gave a moving eulogy of a preacher known to most of the preachers/clergy in the Huntsville/Madison county area and southern Tennessee. Rev. Battle previously pastored at two churches in the southern Tennessee area. Those in attendance gave testimony to what was said about Rev. Battle and his love for his fellow members of the clergy. Rev. Battle worked for over 31 years for the Huntsville City School system, as well as serving as a volunteer chaplain for the Alabama A&M University football program in previous years.
