The Alabama A&M University Family mourns the death of Ms. Erica Vernell Edwards, daughter of Elder Eric W. Edwards and Dr. Vernessa Edwards, AAMU assistant professor of physics. She was also the niece of Dr. Margaret Kelly, former AAMU Title III director. A second-generation alumna of AAMU, Erica majored in music, was deeply devoted to her two sons, and found success as an enterprising entrepreneur. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Union Hill Primitive Baptist Church, 2115 Winchester Road, Huntsville, Ala., at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Oscar L. Montgomery, Sr., officiating.
