A University of Alabama-affiliated Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) executive has been suspended after being arrested during a human trafficking operation in Shelby County, according to law enforcement officials.
Robert Aaron Suttles, content director for Yea Alabama, was arrested July 23 as part of an undercover operation conducted by the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force. Authorities said Suttles was among 15 men taken into custody during the sting.
Investigators allege Suttles agreed to pay $100 in exchange for sexual activity with an undercover officer. He was charged with commercialized sex, also known as soliciting prostitution, a misdemeanor under Alabama law.
Jail records show Suttles was booked into the Shelby County Jail on a $1,000 bond and later released pending further court proceedings.
Following the arrest, Yea Alabama announced that Suttles has been suspended from all work responsibilities while the organization conducts an internal review. In a public statement, the organization emphasized that the allegations involve personal conduct unrelated to its business operations.
Yea Alabama also removed Suttles’ name and biography from its official website.
The University of Alabama clarified that Suttles is not a university employee but worked for Yea Alabama, an independent NIL collective that supports Crimson Tide student-athletes through endorsement and branding opportunities.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional charges have been announced.
