HUNTSVILLE, AL — Huntsville recently hosted a vibrant testament to Black entrepreneurship and creativity with The BOLD Market: Celebrating Black-Owned in Huntsville, a free outdoor expo held Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the iconic Orion Amphitheater.
Presented by BOLD Huntsville and Huntsville Black-Owned Businesses (HBB), the event brought together a high-energy gathering that spotlighted the best of the city’s Black-led businesses and creatives. The curated marketplace featured vendors from sectors as diverse as fashion, food, wellness, technology, and more. Attendees enjoyed live music, DJ sets, interactive shopping, and family-friendly activities — all set against the scenic backdrop of Orion’s open-air venue.
A Platform for Community and Growth
“The BOLD Market is more than just an event,” said Kanique Mighty-Nugent, Executive Director of BOLD Huntsville and founder of HBB, in an announcement on the Huntsville Black-Owned Businesses website prior to the event. “It’s a movement to elevate and invest in Black entrepreneurship and leadership right here in Huntsville. This is a space where culture meets commerce, and the community is invited to take part in something powerful.”
Proceeds from the event supported the BOLD Business Accelerator, a program designed to empower Black business owners with mentorship, resources, and funding support — helping build stronger, more sustainable ventures locally.
Why It Mattered
Held during Black Business Month, The BOLD Market — set against the growing cultural stature of the Orion Amphitheater — underscored Huntsville’s ongoing commitment to inclusive economic growth and creative placemaking through strategic cultural events.
