If you are over 40, you may remember Bobby McFerrin’s hit song from 1988 “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.”

This was the first a cappella song to reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100, the sounds heard are entirely overdubbed voice parts and other sounds made by McFerrin, using no instrument at all.

McFerrin says:

In every life we have some trouble

but when you worry you make it double

Don’t worry, Be happy

Brothers and sisters, with everything going on, don’t worry, be happy.

Jesus said “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me” (John 14:1)

Admittedly, everybody has trouble.

There is something that keeps us up at night, something that causes us to toss and turn, something that puzzles our mind, burdens our spirit, and frustrates our soul— we all have issues.

I know you been to water, been baptized, Holy Ghost filled, Church all day, and soul feel alright but down on the inside there are some things which trouble you, you wrestle with issues on your job, and you’ve got frustrations at the house.

Daily we hear of wars and woes; before you can process one thing — something else happens — I tell you we’ve got some troubles.

Trouble will trouble you if you allow trouble to trouble you.

Wherefore, Jesus conveys in the aforementioned passage to His disciples and to us, stop being troubled and keep believing.

The Lord wanted to stop them from being depressed, stop them from being discouraged, and stop them from being disillusioned; — regardless of what happens He is still God, He is still on the throne, and He is still in charge!

Whoever you are, wherever you are, whatever you are going through, don’t let your troubles trouble you— don’t worry, be happy.
