Huntsville apartment boom continues: Permits issued for two complexes totaling almost $56 million

By Scott Turner

The apartment boom in the Huntsville area is showing no signs of slowing down, at least not in the building permits issued within the last week.

Permits totaled almost $56 million alone for two apartment complexes – The Elsroy and Attain at Bradford Creek – according to Southern Exposure Inc. And construction continues on two townhome and single-family rental communities.

Permits were issued for three $9.8 million buildings for The Elroy at 4514 Research Blvd. The apartments are being developed by Ramston Capital. Batten & Shaw is the builder.

The Elroy will have 191 units, with the Ramston website touting its location near major employers on Interstate 565 in Huntsville and Madison.

Permits for seven $3.7 million buildings were issued for Attain at Bradford Creek at 556 Martin Road near Huntsville International Airport.

Ground was broken last year on the 350-unit apartments. The project is expected to total $90 million when completed. Virginia-based Bonaventure is developing the 22-acre project, while Birmingham-based Doster Construction is leading the onsite construction.
