



AAMU students, faculty and staff of Indian origin hosted the first Diwali, the “Festival of Lights” celebration on campus Friday.
The celebration of food and fellowship was held at 11:30 a.m. in the Carver Complex Thomas Wing Auditorium.
It included a brief program followed by an Indian lunch. AAMU students, faculty and staff prepared all of the food.
Diwali is celebrated over five days and is India’s most important holiday. It marks the triumph of good over evil. This year Diwali falls on Monday, Oct. 24.
