ABOVE): Lawrence County Republican Party chair Shanon Terry advised that he would not resign from elected oice after admitting to posting an altered image of a GOP elephant by “mistake” on the party’s Facebook page. Terry is a sitting member of the Lawrence County School Board, representing District Four. Terry posted an image he found, which was commissioned by the far-left Mother Jones magazine, that depicts a GOP elephant with Ku Klux Klan imagery at the bottom.

It appears that we are continuing to be ignored by the Lawrence County School Board and the Superintendent. Although we have asked for his resignation, Shanon Terry continues to sit on the Lawrence County School Board representing District 4. I have spoken with the Superintendent of Education regarding the situation where Mr. Terry posted an image that contained the “Ku Klux Klan” symbol to announce his appointment within the Lawrence County Republican party. I asked the Superintendent of Education if he wants Lawrence County to appear as accepting “racism” due to the actions of a board member.

We, the citizens of Lawrence County deserve better representation for District 4 and our children than what we are currently receiving. We should demand that Shanon Terry resign from his position as a Board Member immediately because him holding this position sheds a bad light on Lawrence County.
