The colleges are already out for Christmas. I am so happy to have my oldest grandson home from Auburn and so is the rest of the family. He and my son are very close and spend a lot of time together as they like the same sports and hobbies. I am so very proud of my grandson who graduated from Huntsville High and has been on the “Dean’s List” every year at Auburn. He will be graduating next semester and looking for a job soon. I pray he will stay in Huntsville as there are many great jobs in this town. I thank God that my 2 children live in Huntsville as they have been such a blessing.

HUNTSVILLE TIMES

I remember when we had the Huntsville Times and Huntsville News newspapers in Huntsville.  Back in 1992, Mr. Sean Hannity who is now on Fox News, had a radio program here locally and had me and the other mayor candidates on his show. His wife Jill Rhodes worked for the Times and wrote a full-page article about my son and daughter and how they supported me. Time changes everything; some good and some bad.

CITY LEADERS

I want to tell our City Leaders that I love you all and try to tell you that at every meeting.  I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Blessed Happy New Year.

CITY BUSINESS

I wish I could be happy with the big changes taking place in Huntsville but it bothers me that the public is not made aware of a lot of the issues in our city and is not given the opportunity to be more involved in the direction our city is headed. After all, it is the people’s money that the city leaders are spending. I just hope next year we have Government leaders who use some Common Sense and allow public involvement. Tearing the downtown parking garage down is a big issue and tearing down City Hall and not developing it back where it is today is a huge mistake. No one has told the public what is going to happen with this property. They must be waiting for their developers to tell them.

Love you all and I wish you all a Merry Christmas.
