Huntsville, AL – On December 8, 2021 Executive Order 14042 requires companies that have Federal Contracts and whose employees are working on or in connection with any federal contract, including employers working from home/remotely must be fully vaccinated.
If you are fully vaccinated, employees must submit (to their employer) a copy of the vaccination record card or medical record of the vaccination. If you are not vaccinated you can request an exemption for medical or religious reasons. For medical reason your physician must sign off on a medical form. Will some physician be like the Chiropractor in Sarasota, FL who was signing “mask opt-outs” for anyone who wanted one? You didn’t have to be patient of his.
If you are not vaccinated for religious reasons, this must be submitted, in writing, the reasons as it relates to your sincerely held religious beliefs. Will this documentation have to be submitted on the stationary from the house of worship with the signature of your leader? What if your leader is vaccinated and will not honor your request because this does not align with the beliefs? Will your leader sign off on documentation for non-members? What about the non-traditional religions that “society” does not recognize? There are a lot of independent Houses of Worship. What about the people who do not believe in any Higher Being? How would you handle this exemption? These are just a few questions that came to my mind.
The bottom line to this dilemma is that COVID-19 and the variants associated with it, will be around for years because as it stands today, no one will ever know who is fully vaccinated and who is exempted. I say, never let your guard down and take care of yourself because no one else will.
