The GOP And The Current Civil War

Huntsville, AL – People are using the term “America is Divided.”  When I look at what is happening I see “The Current Civil War.” On February 8, 1861 South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Texas formed The Confederacy.  It was considered illegal by the United States Federal Government. After that war began, Virginia, Arkansas, Tennessee and North Carolina joined because they were convinced that white supremacy and the institution of slavery were threatened after the election of Abraham Lincoln.  The Supreme Court ruled that Americans of African descent, whether free or slave, were not American citizens.

Fast forward to present day. For some White Americans everything changed in November 2008. (Yes, we know what happened!) Just like hundreds of years earlier, they felt threatened. That was the beginning of the Current Civil War. The demographics of this country are changing and the GOP, which consists of mostly White Americans, sees this change. White supremacists can’t challenge the citizenship of people of color so they are going after their voting rights. The same southern states that formed the Confederacy are leading this effort.  They are using the term “Voter Security” when it comes to absentee ballots in their attack.  Absentee voting was created for White Americans for their convenience. It worked so well that it became part of the voting process in most states. Remember, when this started people of color were not voting in the record numbers we have today. It’s only when we followed the rules, and the results were not in their favor, they want to change them. It appears the current Supreme Court is backing this assault. What they are saying is that if a candidate we support wins it is because we cheated and our votes should not count.

There are some major elections coming up in November 2022. People of color start preparing now!  You know the candidates who are continuing to spread the BIG LIE and want to cancel your vote.  History has taught us that we are STRONG and not afraid of change. The WEAK change the rules in the middle of the game.
