(AL.COM) – – A 35-year-old man has been charged with capital murder after a child was fatally shot in Montgomery.
Police on Sunday announced the charge against Orlando Meghell Harriell. Killed was 3-year-old Jeremiah Chappell.
Montgomery police responded at 5 p.m. Saturday to an undisclosed hospital on a report of a child shot, said Cpl. Ernestina McGriff. The child was later pronounced dead.
Harriell was identified as a suspect. He was booked into the Montgomery County Detention Center at 1:31 a.m. Sunday.
