Progressive Union Missionary Baptist Church held its’ annual Youth Day Service on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. The speaker was the newly elected pastor for Progressive Union Church, Rev. Dion Watkins. Pastor Watkins will officially assume his duties as Progressive Union’s pastor in July 2021. Pastor Watkins’ sermon title was “Don’t Sweat Your Haters”, scripture reference I Samuel 10:21-27. Music was provided by the Youth Praise Team, and those participating on the program were all 2021 Progressive Union High School graduates. Pastor Watkins was introduced by Rev. Joe Stevenson, Progressive Union Interim Pastor. With COVID restrictions being relaxed, most of those in attendance were experiencing their first in-house worship service since March 2020. The joy of the face-to-face worship was warmly received by all.
