NEWS RELEASE

For the 5th straight year, Madison County Commission Chairman Dale W. Strong today unfurled a 30’ X 50’ flag from the north rooftop of the Madison County Courthouse in honor of Veterans Day. The flag, which faces the Huntsville Madison County Veterans Memorial, will be displayed today through Friday, November 13th.
“Madison County takes great pride in our relationship with our local military along with Redstone Arsenal, and we are incredibly thankful to our veterans for their strong commitment in protecting the homeland and preserving our freedom,” said Madison County Commission Chairman Dale W. Strong. “We fly this flag each and every year in respect and honor of our local Madison County veterans as a small gesture of our genuine thanks and appreciation for their service.”
Madison County enjoys a long and celebrated history in honoring our local veterans. In partnership with the Madison County Military Heritage Commission, Madison County in 2016 unveiled the newly refurbished Hall of Heroes display in the Madison County Courthouse. The Hall of Heroes was established in 1975 to recognize Madison County veterans for valor in combat.
