Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. partnered with Crestwood Women’s Center to observe National Mammography Day.

As Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority continues its nationwide observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. partnered with Crestwood Women’s Center to observe National Mammography Day. National Mammography Day is celebrated the third Friday in October, which was first proclaimed by President Clinton in 1993. It is an effective reminder that regular screenings usually are the best defense to save lives.

The members of Epsilon Gamma Omega are on a mission to encourage women to schedule and have a mammogram performed during the month of October. On October 17, 2018 chapter members delivered 200 assorted breast cancer awareness gifts to the Women’s Center for women who scheduled their mammograms October 19-26. A card from Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter was included with each gift applauding the recipient for their efforts in getting screened and encouraged them to continue regular screenings.
