ELECTION
So thankful that this election is this week will know the results by the time this article comes out on Thursday.  I hope you voted and may the best person be given the job by the people of Alabama.  If there is a runoff election necessary it will be scheduled for July 17, 2018.  Alabama has had many problems over the years and it is time we voted good hearted honest people in office.

HUNSVILLE ALABAMA
My family moved here in 1958 from Philadelphia where my husband had been stationed in the Army for two years.  He got a job in Huntsville with General Electric and later worked for NASA as Branch Manager in the Comp Lab.  He and 4 other guys went to the Daytona 500 in February 1966. All four were killed in a private plane crash returning from the races.  We owned 3 small houses on Governors Drive that I tried to get rezoned to Commercial so they would be worth more money.  After three visits to the Zoning and Variance Board, I was turned down because they knew I-565 coming was coming thru this area.   I told City Attorney Charlie Younger I will be in your face until the day I die.  Only several months ago the City Attorney said he wished they had changed the zoning.   The Planners, Engineering and our City Leaders are not using any Common Sense in my opinion.   Hiring consultant’s from other cities to tell us about our Master Plans is a waste of money.  Also, plans to bring the Jam back to the Yellow Hammer at Stone Middle.  Who makes these decisions?     The City paid $175,000.00 for an Audit conducted by London based firm Sound Diplomacy to grow a music community.  If the Mayor get his mind off Campus 805 and build a Convention Center for the VBC at the coke plant, they could bring in many big names and have concerts along with local talent.  Or are they worried that a center like this would be competition to Campus 805 and Yellow Hammer?    This is just a thought.

STOVEHOUSE
Look up Stovehouse.Com and look at the Master Plan for the old Martin Stove plant on Governors.  You will be surprised as to what is coming down the street from Campus 805.   The developers have been in the area of 4th Ave trying to buy up the people’s properties for condos, retail, bars, restaurants and much more. The city annexed the property from the county a few weeks ago and  the  LARGE SIGN SAYING” STOVEHOUSE” was put up before it was annexed because the county does have sign Ordinance.

Love you all and have a great week.
