Thanks Speakin’ Out News and to the many readers. Wish everyone a happy blessed week. Enjoy each and every day as time is short lived. I got the biggest shock last Saturday night; it was Prom night at Huntsville High. I did not get to see my grandson dressed up before he left the house so I came by their house and saw a few pictures and left and stopped by Burger King on Whitesburg Drive. Having worked in the yard I was not well dressed. While talking to the young cashier, I suddenly felt someone grab my shoulder and scared me. When I looked back my grandson, Nathan and his friend Will had their beautiful dates Mary Morgan and Meredith all dressed up and all looked like a million dollars together. My grandson said he saw my car there and they all wanted to stop and surprise me. On the way home I cried and called my son and told him it was one of the happiest days of my life.
FORGIVE AND FORGET
I believe sometimes the Preacher is talking to me on many subjects. Last week the sermon was on Forgive and Forget. Forgive is easy but not forget. Just 5 years ago when the re-districting plan came up Kling, Culver, and Showers voted me out of Kling’s District. I called the Federal Judge in Washington and she said no reason to change the District lines. This August there are three City Council seats up for re-election and I will be in District 4 against Kling. Mr. Russell is not running, Kling and Robinson up for re-elections. Election August 28, 2018.
VBC OR MADISON SQUARE MALL
Friday’s newspaper talks about landscape set for big change? Amphitheater, music halls, incubator are in the works.
The City Council spent $175,000.00 for a consultant to consider changes in city music halls in the city. We have a VBC that could handle all this business without going to Madison Square Mall. The VBC could book the professionals without paying out this big money. A beautiful Convention Center at the coke property for the VBC to operate for years down town would be ideal. But our leaders believe this would hurt the business at the STONE MIDDLE SCHOOL called Campus 805 of which the City bought 4 acres for $200,000.00 Guess the VBC would be in competition with Campus 805 and our leaders will not do that. So our leaders will build AMPHITHEATER at MADISON SQUARE MALL for MID-CITY DEVELOPERS and RCP COMPANIES, co-founder Max Grelie. Huntsville owns the property at the Mall and I assure you that Millions will be paid for by the tax payers. Our leaders are working for friends and self- interest that is my opinion. Remember I talked with MID-City Developers and he told me he was sent her in 2005 to empty the mall. I will get more information soon.
Love you all and thank you Speakin’ Out News.
