One Woman’s Opinion

Thanks, Speakin Out News and to our many dedicated readers.  Hope everyone is well and taking good care of themselves and their family.  There are so many people that do not take this Virus serious and it looks like it is not getting any better.   Pray daily as God is in control.   As of last Thursday, Alabama reported the lowest COVID vaccination rate of any state, and the only state listed as having given the vaccine to less than 2% of its population.   Alabama has administered 92,300 people, about 1.9% of the population.  The Alabama Department of Public Health responsible for administering the vaccine rollout in the state, says it does not concur with the data and they are checking into this.

I am happy there is a Martin Luther King Holiday. I am so sorry I have missed several of the last meetings at the VBCC but I always enjoyed going and listening to the speakers.

CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS

There is always a City Council Meeting on the second and fourth Thursday at City Hall unless it gets cancelled for some reason.  The meeting is live on Channel 42 and begins at 5:30.   Many big developments are being voted on with very few questions being taken from the public by our leaders.  When do our Leaders meet to discuss these issues and why do we never have public work sessions anymore? I believe the public should be allowed to ask questions and receive clear answers to them before things are approved by our Leaders. That is called good Government.

IMPEACHED AGAIN

The new President will be sworn into office on the 20th of January.    At least 10 House Republicans joined in voting to impeach President Trump.   On Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted 232-197 to impeach President Donald Trump making him the only president to be impeached twice.  The other two that were impeached were Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnson which did not face any charges.  Please Leaders, move on and focus on the next 4 years.  I would not vote for the impeachment and any leaders that do should be held accountable and responsible for doing so.  I cannot believe the President had anything to do with the White House violence.  I feel these people chose to take it to that level on their own and they deserve to be punished. Being an elected official is not any easy job, but it is their duty to the people to keep our Country safe and to improve our quality of life. Please pray for our leaders. We all need to look forward to a great 2021 and pray that the virus will be over soon.

Love you all and have a blessed week.
