Spooky Nights and Costumed Cats: Huntsville Botanical Garden Celebrates Fall

By SPEAKIN’ OUT NEWS

Spellbound will transform Huntsville Botanical Garden with dramatic lighting, performers, and seasonal scenes during select October evenings for adults ages 21 and older. Cats and their companions are invited to dress up for Meow-o-ween on Oct. 26. Felines must remain on leashes or in secure carriers.

HUNTSVILLE — Huntsville Botanical Garden is bringing two distinctive experiences to its October calendar: Spellbound, an evening attraction for adults, and Meow-o-ween, a seasonal outing for cats and their companions.

Spellbound returns Oct. 21–25 and Oct. 28–31 for guests ages 21 and older. Familiar Garden landscapes will take on a mysterious atmosphere through dramatic lighting, atmospheric sound, seasonal décor and themed scenes. Live performers, firepits and photo opportunities will add to the self-guided experience, with beverages and concessions available for purchase.

Each evening begins at 7 p.m. Closing time is 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with admission ending one hour before closing. Advance tickets are $12 for members and $17 for nonmembers; day-of prices are $15 and $25, respectively. Guests must present a valid government-issued photo ID.

On Monday, Oct. 26, Meow-o-ween will offer a Halloween twist on the Garden’s Meowy Mondays. Scheduled from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the event welcomes feline friends on leashes or in secure carriers. Costumes are encouraged for both cats and their humans.

Visitors can explore autumn displays, pose among pumpkins and fall foliage, and meet adoptable cats from a local rescue organization. Professional pet photographs will be available from 4–6 p.m. Nonmembers bringing a costumed cat may receive a complimentary pet photo; regular admission applies to those entering the Garden. Costumed cats may enter free.

Huntsville Botanical Garden is located at 4747 Bob Wallace Ave. SW. Visit hsvbg.org for event information and tickets.
