HUNTSVILLE — The Huntsville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will welcome one of the nation’s leading civil rights voices this summer when it hosts its Annual Social Action Luncheon on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
The event will begin at 11 a.m. in the East Hall of the Von Braun Center and will feature Derrick Johnson, president and chief executive officer of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), as the keynote speaker.
This year’s theme, “The Time Is Now: Hope in Action; Strength in Unity,” reflects the organization’s focus on civic engagement, social justice, community empowerment, and collective action.
Johnson has served as the national leader of the NAACP since 2017 and has been a prominent advocate for voting rights, criminal justice reform, economic opportunity, and educational equity. Under his leadership, the nation’s oldest civil rights organization has continued its efforts to address issues affecting communities across the country.
Organizers expect the luncheon to bring together community leaders, elected officials, business professionals, educators, clergy, and residents from across North Alabama for an afternoon of inspiration and dialogue.
Individual tickets are available for $125. Table sponsorships are $1,200 and include seating for eight guests and a digital advertisement.
Additional small-business and corporate sponsorship opportunities are also available.
