HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Residents looking for a unique way to celebrate Juneteenth can experience an evening of music, culture, and history at Tales from The Juke, an immersive event taking place June 19 at the Historic Depot Roundhouse in downtown Huntsville.

The event will run from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 398 Monroe Street NW and is designed to honor the legacy of the Black Southern juke joint, a gathering place where music, community, and culture flourished throughout the South.

Organized by Soigné, the experience will feature live musical performances, spoken word presentations, soul food, moonshine-inspired cocktails, and interactive spaces designed to transport guests into the atmosphere of a traditional juke joint.

Event organizers describe Tales from The Juke as more than a celebration. It is an opportunity to connect with history through storytelling, music, and cultural expression while commemorating Juneteenth, the holiday marking the end of slavery in the United States.

The Historic Depot Roundhouse will be transformed into a fully immersive environment where guests can explore the traditions, creativity, and resilience that helped shape Black Southern culture.

The event is open to the public and is expected to attract residents and visitors seeking a meaningful and entertaining Juneteenth experience.
