By SPEAKIN’ OUT NEWS

Morgan County authorities conducted “Operation  Spring Sting” targeting online child predators. Five suspects  were arrested and face serious charges under Alabama law,  including human trafficking and solicitation of a minor.

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. — A weekend undercover operation aimed at protecting  children has led to the arrest of five individuals in Morgan County, highlighting  ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat online child exploitation.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrests as part of “Operation  Spring Sting,” an investigation targeting individuals accused of attempting to meet  minors for sexual activity. According to investigators, the suspects communicated  with an undercover agent posing as a minor and were clearly informed of the  decoy’s age before arranging to meet. Each was taken into custody upon arrival.

“Protecting our children and targeting those who would prey on them is an  ongoing focus for our agency,” the sheriff’s office stated. “These operations  continue to succeed in rooting out individuals who are willing to engage in sexual  activity with a minor.”

Those arrested include Antoriaunte Shivoughn Provens, 32, of Madison; Carlow  Lamont Roseboro, 39, of Gaffney, South Carolina; Fleury Jobenson, 26, of  Decatur; Kendrick Lashunn Bowling, 46; and Cordaryl Lashawn Turner, 38, of  Decatur. All face multiple serious charges, including first-degree human  trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child, and traveling to meet a child for an  unlawful sex act. Authorities said Jobenson also has an ICE detainer.

All suspects are currently being held without bond pending hearings under Aniah’s  Law, a 2022 Alabama constitutional amendment that allows judges to deny bail for  certain violent felony charges, including human trafficking.

The operation was supported by the Priceville Police Department and the 25th  Judicial Circuit. Officials say efforts like Operation Spring Sting will continue as  part of a broader commitment to keeping communities safe and protecting  children across North Alabama.
