The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals has taken a definitive step toward justice for one of the most heartbreaking tragedies in state history. On March 27, 2026, the court upheld the capital murder conviction and death sentence of Jeremy Tremaine Williams, 41, for the horrific 2021 slaying of 5-year-old Kamarie Holland.

Williams—who recorded the brutalization of the innocent child on his cellphone—is now demanding a speedy execution. Since 2025, he has petitioned the Alabama Attorney General and Governor Kay Ivey to waive all further appeals. While his heinous crimes involving methamphetamine automatically triggered a legal review, the appeals court found him competent and the sentence justified.

Russell County District Attorney Rick Chancey, a tireless advocate for the victim, praised the ruling but noted the road ahead. “I am doing everything I can to move this along to the end,” Chancey stated. He described the evidence as the most horrific he has ever seen, noting, “This is a terrible human being, and he did a tremendous amount of damage over the years.”

The case serves as a somber reminder of the need for community vigilance across our state. Kamarie’s mother, Kristy Marie Siple, is serving 20 years after pleading guilty to sex trafficking her daughter. Williams, who had a history of abuse allegations from Alabama to Alaska, remains on death row at Holman Correctional Facility.

As Alabama and the broader community reflect on this case, the focus remains on protecting our most vulnerable. “You do that to children,” Chancey said, “and there’s no hope for you.” We stand with the families seeking closure, hoping this finality brings peace to a grieving state.
