HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville is once again preparing to take center stage in global defense innovation as registration officially opens for the 2026 Space and Missile Defense Symposium.
Scheduled for Aug. 11–13, the internationally recognized event is expected to draw thousands of military leaders, government officials, and defense industry experts from around the world.
Now in its 28th year, the symposium has become a premier forum for critical discussions on national security, space operations, and missile defense strategy. Organizers say the event brings together top decision-makers, engineers, and innovators to address emerging threats and future technologies.
Last year’s symposium attracted more than 9,000 attendees, and 2026 is expected to be even larger, featuring updates from leaders at the Missile Defense Agency, the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, and the U.S. Space Command.
The event will also include strategic panels, technical presentations, innovation briefings, and a showcase highlighting small businesses. An exhibit hall featuring more than 300 aerospace and defense companies will showcase cutting-edge advancements.
Hosted in Huntsville—home to Redstone Arsenal and Cummings Research Park—the symposium highlights the city’s growing global influence in defense and space technology.
