Percy Miller has more than earned his stage name of Master P. He’s an all-time, rags-to-riches, rap mogul and renaissance man.
Growing up in a Third Ward ghetto, the New Orleans native later founded iconic label No Limit Records, was part of rap group TRU, and scored iconic solo hits like 1997’s “Make ‘Em Say Uhh.” Miller’s made hundreds of millions in real estate and other businesses, too. Been a prolific philanthropist for decades.
He’s also acted in films like “Gone in 60 Seconds,” and featured in TV shows like Nickelodeon’s “Romeo!” and ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.” Miller’s even been involved in pro wrestling and played professional basketball. Most recently, he was named president of basketball operations for University of New Orleans.
This summer, Master P’s returning to his musical roots. He’s headlining a June 27 “No Limit Soldiers” reunion concert at Huntsville’s Orion Amphitheater. Other acts on the bill include rappers Silkk The Shocker (Miller’s brother), Mia X, Fiend and Mac.
Tickets are $40 to $105 plus fees and go on sale 10 a.m. Friday via axs.com.
