There’s been $2 billion in new construction in the Huntsville area this year

New construction topped $2.2 billion in the Huntsville area during the first nine months of the year.

Mixed-use apartment communities, class A office buildings and housing developments have been springing from the ground in Madison, Morgan and Limestone counties since the beginning of the year.

Huntsville alone has issued 2,684 permits topping $1.1 billion. Madison County has issued 1,549 permits topping $451 million. Madison has issued 582 totaling $236 million. Athens has issued 496 totaling $117.8 million. Decatur has issued 331 topping $103.8 million and Priceville has issued 35 permits topping $6.2 million.
