Story and photos by Rosemary Sherrod

In her book, “Believing In The Dark”, Huntsville resident and mother of three, Rosemary Sherrod chronicles the fifteen-year journey of her son’s, Qevonte, battle with Neuroblastoma cancer.
She shares how the Lord shined His light in the middle of their darkest times. In addition to her struggles, she writes about her front-row seat experiences to her son’s suffering.
Rosemary reminds us, in her book, that even though we may experience deep agony and times of suffering within our trials, God will not allow us to be in utter darkness. We, as Christians, will not be left without hope or the promise of deliverance. The Lord is an ever-present light and comfort in our afflictions – and if we allow the Lord to shine in our darkness, we will then become a light in this dark world.
After battling Neuroblastoma since the age of eight, Qe’Vonte gained his angel wings in March 2020 at twenty-three. He was known for his genial personality and radiant smile. Rosemary desires that their story of faith and resilience will uplift, enlighten, and inspire people to embrace the beauty that is blooming in their darkest hour.
