Caleb Crutcher, a Hazel Green High School in Hazel Green, Alabama, has signed a national letter of intent to run track at Jackson State University (JSU) in Jackson, Mississippi. Caleb, who graduated with a 3.65 GPA, also received an academic scholarship, which his father, Darrell Crutcher, stressed was very important. He will major in accounting. During his high school years at Hazel Green, Caleb also played football and soccer.
The signing ceremony was held at Restoration Church in Madison on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at noon. His parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, former teammates, and well-wishers were in attendance. All the males in attendance gathered around Caleb during the ceremony, including his teammates, grandfather, father, and Caleb’s uncle, and prayed for him. Also, they prayed for other teammates, who will also be going to college this fall. Caleb will be leaving on August 14 to begin his collegiate career.
