Bulldogs Struggle in Home Loss to Wildcats

Alabama A&M’s Koron Davis led the Bulldogs with 22 points in Monday night’s home loss to Bethune-Cookman at the AAMU Event Center.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Alabama A&M men’s basketball team struggled to find its rhythm offensively Monday night, falling 80–62 to Bethune-Cookman in a matchup of two of the Southwestern Athletic Conference’s top programs at the AAMU Event Center.

Alabama A&M (12–10 overall, 5–4 SWAC) remained competitive early, but Bethune-Cookman (11–11, 8–1 SWAC) used defensive pressure and transition scoring to take control in the second half.

The Wildcats opened the game with an early run before the Bulldogs responded with strong interior play from Koron Davis and P.J. Eason. Alabama A&M cut the deficit to single digits midway through the first half, but turnovers proved costly as Bethune-Cookman capitalized on fast-break opportunities to build momentum.

Despite a late push before the break, the Bulldogs trailed 42–32 at halftime.

Bethune-Cookman came out of the locker room with increased pace, extending the lead to double figures with quick transition buckets and strong finishes in the paint. Alabama A&M continued to battle inside, with Davis attacking the rim and Angok Anyang providing energy off the bench, but the Wildcats consistently answered to maintain control.

A late surge briefly narrowed the margin, but consecutive transition scores by Bethune-Cookman down the stretch sealed the road victory.

Davis led Alabama A&M with 22 points, six rebounds, and one steal, while James Graham III added 10 points, three rebounds, and one block in the loss.
