SPEAKIN’ OUT NEWS

An Alabama singer is making her home state proud after a standout run on NBC’s The Voice.
Jazz McKenzie, a native of Alabama and resident of Huntsville, placed sixth overall in Season 28 of the popular singing competition, which concluded this week with Texas contestant Aiden Ross winning the title.
McKenzie captured national attention with powerful performances throughout the season, earning a rare four-chair turn during her blind audition and choosing to join Team Michael Bublé.
Known for her soulful voice and commanding stage presence, McKenzie delivered memorable renditions of songs by Tina Turner, Smokey Robinson, Journey and Olivia Rodrigo, earning praise from coaches including Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg and Bublé himself.
Her journey began long before The Voice, performing locally across Alabama, including at Huntsville’s Panoply Arts Festival and other regional venues. McKenzie’s passion for music grew from singing in church and performing around Rocket City, where fans rallied behind her throughout the competition.
Despite falling just short of the top prize, McKenzie’s performance elevated her profile nationwide and showcased Alabama talent on one of television’s biggest stages. She thanked supporters for their encouragement, particularly fans back home who followed her journey and voted during live rounds.
As she closes this chapter, McKenzie’s The Voice experience has opened doors and built momentum for her career, with anticipation high for what comes next from the soulful Alabama singer.
